Bhubaneswar, Oct 31: In a shocking case of violence, a minor boy was brutally assaulted by a group of miscreants in the capital city of Odisha. The disturbing incident came to light after a video of the assault went viral on social media, prompting swift police action.

According to reports, the boy’s hands were tied, and he was beaten mercilessly by the attackers, even as he pleaded for mercy. The assault reportedly took place near a popular tourist spot under the Dhauli police limits in Bhubaneswar.

Following the viral video, a woman lodged a formal complaint at the Dhauli police station, leading to an immediate investigation. The Commissionerate Police acted swiftly, arresting eight individuals, including some minors, in connection with the case.

Initial investigation suggests that the attack was premeditated and motivated by prior enmity between the parties involved. Police sources said that all the accused have been identified and are currently being interrogated to determine the exact cause and sequence of events.
