Teenager dies after being hit by train while filming reel in Puri
Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: In a tragic incident, a 15-year-old boy lost his life after being struck by a speeding train while filming a video on the railway tracks at Janakadeipur railway station near Chandanpur police limits in Puri district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Biswajeet Sahu, a resident of Manglaghat in Puri. According to reports, Biswajeet had accompanied his mother to the Dakshinakali Temple and was returning home when he stopped near the railway track to record a social media reel. Unfortunately, he failed to notice an approaching train and was hit before he could move to safety.
Locals who witnessed the incident rushed to rescue the injured boy and immediately took him to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital. However, despite doctors’ efforts, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Upon being informed, Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel reached the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police have urged the public, especially youth, to avoid risky activities near railway tracks for the sake of safety.
