Youth dies after motorcycle falls off bridge in Subarnapur district
Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a 28-year-old youth after his motorcycle plunged nearly 20 feet from the Magarkunda bridge near Belpada Square on National Highway 126 in Subarnapur district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Yudhamanyu Duari, a resident of Bhramarapali village under Binika police station limits. According to reports, Duari was heading towards Binika on his motorcycle when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle while crossing the bridge. The bike veered off the edge and fell onto the ground below, causing him to sustain fatal injuries.
Local residents rushed to the spot immediately after the accident, but Duari had already succumbed to his injuries. Upon receiving information, Binika police arrived at the site and recovered the body. It was later sent to the Binika Community Health Centre (CHC) for post-mortem examination.
Police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap, which could have resulted from overspeeding, a slippery surface, or mechanical failure. Further details are awaited.
