Naveen pays tribute to Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das on birth anniversary

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: On Monday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid heartfelt tributes to Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Patnaik expressed, "I offer my deep respects on the birth anniversary of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das, an extraordinary symbol of service, sacrifice, and a prominent freedom fighter. His unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people and his vision for building an educated society through the establishment of Satyabadi Bana Bidyalaya in Suando continue to inspire us."
It is worth noting that Gopabandhu Das was born on October 9, 1877, in Soando, Janapuri district. He played an active role in the Uttarakhand Conference organized by Madhusudan Das in 1903, laying the foundation for the creation of a separate Odisha province in 1936.
He also served as a member of the Bihar-Odisha Legislative Assembly from 1917 to 1921 and later assumed the role of the first chairman of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee.
