Boudh Police launch awareness and reward drive to curb Maoist activities
Bhubaneswar, Oct 17: In a determined effort to counter rising Maoist activities, the Boudh district police have rolled out a comprehensive awareness and reward campaign across several Maoist-affected areas. The campaign aims to engage local communities and encourage cooperation in the fight against extremism.
As part of the initiative, notices and posters have been displayed in over nine sensitive locations, including Sigadi, Tilpanga, Udamunda, Matagadu, Khandikhanpa, Luharpada, Nalikumpa, and Palam, falling under the jurisdictions of Boudh, Kantamal, Baunsuni, and Manmunda police stations.
The posters, issued under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Rahul Goel, announce a total reward of ₹4.3 crore for information leading to the arrest of 10 wanted members of the KKBN (Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh) Maoist group.
Citizens have been urged to share credible intelligence on Maoist movements, while the police have also appealed to the ultras to surrender, assuring them of rehabilitation and financial support.
SP Goel stated that the initiative reflects a dual strategy — intensifying enforcement while promoting peace and reintegration. Enhanced patrolling and intelligence-driven operations are also underway along the forested border areas adjoining Kandhamal and Kalahandi districts.
