Bhubaneswar, Oct 6: Twin City Police Commissioner S. Dev Datta Singh on Monday informed that the individuals responsible for the recent violence during the Durga Puja idol immersion in Cuttack have been identified, and efforts are underway to apprehend them. He assured that stringent action will be taken against all those involved in disrupting peace and order in the city.

“We have identified the miscreants involved in the violent incidents. Three separate cases have already been registered in connection with the clashes. To maintain law and order, additional central forces have been deployed at sensitive points across Cuttack. The police have been directed to act swiftly and firmly against the troublemakers,” Singh stated.

The Commissioner also urged the public not to fall prey to misinformation or circulate rumours that could escalate tensions. He emphasized that the police are keeping a close watch on the situation through constant patrolling and surveillance to prevent any further untoward incidents.

Authorities reiterated their commitment to restoring complete normalcy and ensuring that the festive spirit in Cuttack remains peaceful and undisturbed.
