Morning strolls turn deadly: Three killed in Odisha road accidents

Bhubaneswar, Oct 8: This morning, tragic road accidents claimed the lives of at least three individuals, including two college students, in separate incidents in Odisha's Angul and Bolangir districts.
According to reports, all three victims were on a morning stroll when they were struck by unidentified vehicles. In the initial case, two plus II students, Sadhu Samad and Babuli Sunti, lost their lives after being hit by an unknown vehicle along NH-49 in Pallahara, Angul district.
In the second incident, a speeding pickup van fatally struck a young man named Purushottam Bhoi in Patnagarh, Bolangir district, leading to his immediate demise. The pickup van fled the scene following the accident.
In response to these tragedies, local residents organized a roadblock, demanding the immediate apprehension of the pickup van's driver and compensation for the victim's family. This blockade disrupted traffic on the Bolangir-Patnagarh route.
Order was eventually restored when the police arrived at the scene and calmed the protesters.
