Body found buried under coal in train wagon at Paradip Port
Bhubaneswar, Sept 22: A shocking incident unfolded at Paradip Port on Sunday when workers discovered a body buried under coal inside a train wagon. The coal-laden wagon had arrived at the port from the Talcher mining area in Angul district earlier in the afternoon.
According to sources, employees at the Mechanical Coal Handling Plant (MCHP) were unloading the consignment when they noticed human remains concealed beneath the coal in one of the wagons. The discovery brought unloading operations to an abrupt halt, causing suspension of work at the MCHP tippler since Sunday afternoon.
Even a day later, officials reported that the body was still inside the wagon tippler, awaiting retrieval under police supervision. The circumstances leading to the presence of the body remain unclear, raising suspicions of foul play, accident, or possible illegal transport.
Police teams have initiated a probe to identify the deceased and ascertain the sequence of events. Forensic experts are also expected to assist in the investigation. Authorities have assured that unloading operations will resume only after the body is recovered and preliminary examinations are completed.
