Dhenkanal woman attempts self-immolation after family dispute, critical at SCB Hospital

Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: A tragic incident unfolded at Manpur village under Kantabania police station limits in Dhenkanal district on Saturday, where a woman allegedly attempted self-immolation following a heated family quarrel.
The victim has been identified as Sabitri Gochhayat, who reportedly poured petrol on herself and set herself ablaze in a fit of despair. Family members and locals immediately rushed to her rescue and shifted her to Angul District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for emergency treatment.
