Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: In a chilling development, the Phulbani Adarsha Town police have cracked the murder case of a 10-year-old girl whose lifeless body was found hanging under mysterious circumstances in her house at Peonapada, under the Phulbani Town police limits.

The incident occurred on August 29, when the girl's parents were away. On returning home, they discovered their daughter hanging and rushed her to the District Headquarters Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Initially suspected to be a case of suicide, further investigation revealed a more disturbing truth.

Following a complaint by the girl’s father, who suspected his nephew's involvement, police launched a detailed probe. Shockingly, it was revealed that the victim’s own minor brother was behind the crime. During interrogation, the boy confessed to killing his sister. He was subsequently arrested and produced before the Juvenile Justice Board, which ordered his remand to Balashram Jail in Boudh.

Meanwhile, the victim's parents have demanded a deeper investigation, suspecting possible involvement of others. Police continue their probe, assuring strict action against all culprits.
