Peon arrested for allegedly making senior officer drink urine in Gajapati district

Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: In a shocking incident from R. Udayagiri in Gajapati district, a peon working at the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Department was arrested for allegedly making a senior officer drink urine instead of water. The accused has been identified as Subash Chandra Behera.
According to the complaint lodged by the officer, Pattnayak, the incident took place on the night of July 23 while he was working late at the office. Pattnayak had asked Behera to bring him a bottle of drinking water. Instead, the peon allegedly handed him a bottle containing urine, which Pattnayak unknowingly consumed.
Shortly after taking a few sips, the officer felt uneasy and developed health complications. As his condition worsened, he was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for medical attention. Following his recovery, Pattnayak filed a formal police complaint against the peon, accusing him of intentional misconduct.
Acting on the complaint, R. Udayagiri police registered a case and conducted a preliminary investigation. Based on the findings, the accused peon Subash Chandra Behera was arrested and further legal proceedings are underway.
