Bhubaneswar, July 3: In a heart-wrenching incident, a couple lost their lives in a road accident near Rambhikata under Boudh Adarsh Police Station during the early hours of Thursday. The deceased have been identified as Raj Kishore Sahu and his wife Meena Rani Sahu, residents of Gania in Daspalla, Nayagarh district.

According to reports, the couple was on their way home from Nayagarh district after receiving the unfortunate news of Raj Kishore’s father Balbhadra Sahu’s demise. They were traveling in a private car to perform the last rites when tragedy struck. Their vehicle crashed into a stationary truck parked along the roadside near Rambhikata, leading to their instant death.

Raj Kishore was a science teacher at Kumurkuri High School in Nuapada district. His sudden death, along with his wife’s, has left their community in deep mourning.

Upon receiving information, Boudh Adarsh Police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident is currently underway.
