OAS officers’ agitation to continue until demands are met, says association

Bhubaneswar, July 3: The ongoing protest by the Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) Association will continue indefinitely until their key demands are fulfilled, the association announced on Thursday. The agitation stems from the alleged assault on BMC Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo, which has triggered statewide resentment among OAS officers.
The association has clearly stated that those responsible for the attack must be arrested immediately, and the investigation should not be prolonged. They have demanded that the probe be completed within three days and that the state government must act swiftly to deliver justice.
Despite the protest, OAS officers deployed in flood-affected areas and during the Rath Yatra festival are continuing their duties, ensuring that essential services remain unaffected, the association clarified.
The OAS Association has placed three specific demands before the government regarding the incident and emphasized their trust in Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, expressing confidence that appropriate action will be taken against the culprits.
It is noteworthy that OAS officers in various districts have gone on indefinite mass leave, abstaining from regular duties in protest against the assault, demanding accountability and swift justice.
