Odisha Vigilance raids Ganjam engineer, unearths massive assets

Bhubaneswar, June 28: The Odisha Vigilance Directorate has uncovered substantial assets allegedly linked to Susil Kumar Panda, an Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Ganjam Block, during a series of coordinated raids conducted in connection with a disproportionate assets case. Acting on credible allegations that Panda possessed assets beyond his known sources of income, vigilance officials launched simultaneous searches at seven different locations across Ganjam and Puri districts.
During the raids, the Vigilance team discovered a triple-storeyed building measuring approximately 4,620 square feet at Ram Hari Nagar in Berhampur, along with a 2-BHK flat of around 700 square feet at Mukteswar Apartment, Ankuli, and a 1-BHK flat of about 600 square feet in Puri. In addition, the team identified six high-value plots spread across Bhubaneswar, Khordha, and Berhampur.
The officials also seized ₹2,05,000 in cash, a Mahindra KUV four-wheeler, and two two-wheelers. Several bank deposits and investments are under scrutiny, and a bank locker at Central Cooperative Bank, Berhampur, jointly held by Panda and his wife, remains to be opened. The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently measuring and valuing the assets, and further investigation is in progress.
