Passengers Narrowly Escape As Bus Remained Suspended Over Bridge
A passenger bus has crashed on Mahanadi bridge at Banki Jatmundia in Cuttack district. The bus coming from Angul to Bhubaneswar hit the barricade of the Jatmundia Bridge and the bus fell down the pole. The vehicle remains suspended in a semi-overturned position after hitting the barricade of the bridge.
The police and fire brigade have reached the spot and are continuing the rescue operation. Although the passengers were rescued safely, more than 10 passengers were reported injured. Passengers were rescued by breaking the glass and emergency door of the carriage. The cause of the accident is not known.
