Preparations in full swing for Puri Rath Yatra 2025: 365 special trains, 300 doctors, tight security planned

Bhubaneswar, June 9: The second coordination meeting for the world-famous Rath Yatra of Puri was held today under the chairmanship of Odisha Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. The high-level meeting focused on streamlining arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual festival, which draws lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad.
Following the meeting, it was announced that 365 special trains will operate to and from Puri during the Rath Yatra 2025 to ensure smooth travel for pilgrims. To strengthen healthcare services during the festival, 300 additional doctors will be deployed in and around Puri. Officials assured the public that there is no need to panic regarding COVID-19, as necessary health protocols and resources will be in place.
On the security front, CCTV cameras will monitor key locations, and security coordination among departments will be handled through an Integrated Control Command Center and a dedicated war room.
The meeting saw the participation of key stakeholders, including the Ministers of Language, Literature and Culture, Health, and Commerce & Transport, along with Shree Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Dr. Arvind Padhi, senior bureaucrats, MPs, MLAs, the ADG (Security), the Puri District Collector, and SP.
