Odisha Law Minister warns of strict action in espionage case involving YouTuber

Bhubaneswar, May 19: Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Monday stated that anyone found leaking sensitive information to operatives in Pakistan will face strict legal consequences. His remarks come amid an ongoing investigation into alleged espionage involving Odia YouTuber Priyanka Senapati and her reported connections with Jyoti Malhotra, a fellow content creator recently arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan.
Speaking to reporters, Harichandan said, “This is a highly sensitive matter. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is handling the probe professionally. Anyone linked to this network—whether directly involved in espionage or supporting it in any manner—will not be spared. Legal action will be taken without compromise.”
The controversy has drawn public attention, especially following revelations about Malhotra’s role in allegedly passing classified information to Pakistani handlers. As scrutiny grows, Senapati has locked her Instagram account and issued a public statement denying any involvement. In her message, she emphasized, “My country comes first,” and said she only knew Malhotra as a fellow blogger. She also expressed her full willingness to cooperate with the investigation.
