Man gets 25 years rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting two minors in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar, May 17: In a swift and decisive judgment delivered by the Additional District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Court under the POCSO Act in Jharsuguda, accused Ajit Nag has been sentenced to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment for the sexual assault of two minor boys. The verdict, handed down by Judge Puja Sarangi, followed a comprehensive investigation and trial that firmly established Nag's guilt in this heinous crime.
The case, registered on March 23, 2025, saw remarkable efficiency in the judicial process. The police completed their investigation and filed charges within a mere 16 days, demonstrating a commitment to swift justice. The court's final verdict came on May 17, 2025, just 55 days after the initial First Information Report (FIR) was lodged, highlighting the prompt action taken in this sensitive matter.
The investigation employed modern scientific techniques, including crucial DNA analysis, which played a significant role in building an irrefutable case against Ajit Nag. According to the complainant, the ordeal began when her 11-year-old son, while in their locality, was lured by Nag, a resident of the same village, onto his motorcycle. Nag then took the child to the secluded Old OPM Building at Haltanki and subjected him to sexual assault.
