Body of Andhra youth found on Gopalpur beach; murder suspected

Bhubaneswar, May 17: In a shocking incident, the body of a young man from Andhra Pradesh was recovered from the Gopalpur beach under the jurisdiction of Golanthara police in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The deceased has been identified as V. Chinna, a resident of Kapasakudi village in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district.
Local residents spotted the body early in the morning and immediately informed the Golanthara police. Upon arrival, police officials discovered deep cut marks on Chinna’s neck and multiple injury marks on other parts of his body, raising strong suspicions of foul play.
Sources revealed that Chinna had gone missing from his village on May 14, but no missing complaint was lodged at the Kaviti police station in Andhra Pradesh. Initial investigations suggest that he may have been murdered elsewhere and his body dumped into the sea to eliminate evidence.
The Golanthara police have registered a case and sent the body to MKCG Medical College, Berhampur, for post-mortem. The exact cause of death will be confirmed following the autopsy. Chinna’s family members are expected to reach Golanthara later today to identify the body and assist in the investigation.
