Odisha to witness hot, humid weather with thunderstorms till May 17; yellow alert issued

Bhubaneswar, May 13: The regional meteorological centre has forecasted hot and humid weather conditions across Odisha till May 17, with yellow alerts issued for several districts over the next four days due to rising temperatures and chances of thunderstorms.
May 14 Forecast:
Hot and humid conditions are likely at one or two places in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are also expected in the afternoon or evening in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajapati, and Ganjam.
May 15 Forecast:
Hot and humid conditions may persist in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are expected in Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, and Ganjam. Winds between 30-40 kmph may hit Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Nabarangapur, Kandhamal, Bhadrak, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balangir, Kalahandi, and Cuttack.
May 16 Forecast:
Hot and humid weather will likely continue in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. Afternoon or evening thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are forecast for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Gajapati.
