Soldier’s wife dies after childbirth at VIMSAR; family in grief
Bhubaneswar, May 13: In a heartbreaking incident, a soldier’s wife passed away at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla, after battling for life for over a month following childbirth. The deceased, Lipi Ganda (28), belonged to Tengnamal village under Lakhanpur block in Jharsuguda district.
Lipi was admitted to VIMSAR on April 8 after giving birth to a baby girl. However, her health deteriorated soon after delivery, and she slipped into unconsciousness. For 15 days, she remained unresponsive, and on April 29, her condition worsened further, leading to her being shifted to the ICU.
Her husband, Debraj Ganda, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan, stayed with her through the critical days. But amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Debraj received an urgent deployment call and had to leave for duty, leaving behind his ailing wife and newborn daughter.
Tragically, Lipi succumbed to multi-organ failure today, plunging the family into deep sorrow. What was meant to be a joyful beginning for the couple has turned into a tale of loss and grief.
