Odisha achieves highest industrial growth in india over the past decade: Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar, May 12: Former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced that Odisha has recorded the highest industrial growth in India over the past ten years, underscoring the state’s significant economic progress. The statement was based on a recent report by ICRA Limited, which highlighted Odisha’s impressive performance in industrial development.
According to the report, the industrial Gross State Value Added (GSVA) of Odisha grew at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10% between FY2015 and FY2024 — the highest among all Indian states. Patnaik credited this achievement to the state’s booming manufacturing sector and its proactive industrial policies.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Patnaik stated, “With consistent efforts through initiatives like ‘Make in Odisha’ and a strong focus on creating an investor-friendly environment, the industry’s share in Odisha’s GSVA has risen to 51% in 2024 — one of the highest in the country.”
Odisha also recorded the second-highest GSVA growth at constant prices at over 7%, well above the national average of 5.8%. Patnaik emphasized that this growth reflects the transformative impact of industrialization on the state’s economy and livelihoods.
