Bhubaneswar, May 10: Tension gripped the area near Damana Square on Saturday night after a man sustained bullet injuries during a violent altercation at a local bar. The incident occurred when a heated dispute between two groups of patrons escalated into a scuffle, ultimately leading to gunfire.

According to eyewitness accounts and initial reports, the disagreement quickly turned chaotic, and amid the commotion, unidentified miscreants reportedly drew firearms and opened fire. One individual was hit by a bullet and collapsed at the scene. The assailants fled immediately after the incident, leaving the crowd in panic.

The injured man was promptly rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is reported to be stable, though further medical evaluation is ongoing.

Upon receiving information, a team from the Chandrasekharpur police station arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Officers recovered a spent cartridge from the location, indicating the use of firearms during the clash. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the bar and surrounding areas to identify the culprits.

A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and apprehend those involved in the shooting.
