Body of six-year-old boy found in abandoned quarry

Bhubaneswar, April 24: In a heart-wrenching incident, the body of a six-year-old boy was recovered from an abandoned stone quarry in Chargotha village, under Jenapur police station limits in Jenapur district, on Thursday. The deceased child has been identified as Shivu Rout, son of Bauribandhu Rout.
According to reports, Shivu had gone missing on Wednesday evening, prompting a frantic search by family members and locals. The search came to a tragic end the next morning when his body was found floating in rainwater that had accumulated in the neglected quarry site.
The discovery of the child’s body has sent shockwaves across the village, triggering grief and outrage. Tensions escalated when several villagers accused Shivu’s father of being involved in the child’s death, alleging foul play.
In response to the rising tension, police forces were deployed to the area to prevent any law and order situation. Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death and verify the claims made by the villagers.
