Massive police operation launched to rescue abducted toddler in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, April 14: A large-scale search operation is underway after a two-year-old boy, Subham Mallick, was abducted from outside the Ram Temple in Bhubaneswar during the early hours of Sunday. The child was reportedly taken from his visually-impaired mother around 1:30 AM.
The mother immediately raised an alarm, triggering a swift response from the Commissionerate Police. Multiple teams have since been deployed to locate the missing child.
At a press briefing on Monday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena stated that both human intelligence and technical surveillance are actively being used in the investigation.
“We are making every possible effort to trace and rescue the child at the earliest. This is being treated as a kidnapping case under applicable legal provisions,” said DCP Meena.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under kidnapping charges, in line with standard procedures for missing minors.
Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that might aid the investigation. Tip-offs can be shared with UPD Bhubaneswar via 0674-2540555 (Office) or 82803-38302 (CUG).
