Three members of a family die after consuming poison in suspected suicide case in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, April 7: In a heartbreaking incident, three members of a family were found dead after allegedly consuming poison at Palibandha village under Rambha police limits in Ganjam district on Sunday night. The deceased include a 40-year-old woman, her 22-year-old son, and her 16-year-old daughter.
The tragic discovery was made early Monday morning when a concerned neighbour noticed the house doors locked and unresponsive to repeated knocking. With the help of other locals, the neighbour forcibly entered the house, only to find all three family members lying unconscious on the floor.
They were immediately rushed to Chhatrapur Hospital and later referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Unfortunately, doctors declared all three dead on arrival.
Initial investigations suggest that the family may have consumed pesticide due to ongoing internal disputes. However, the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
Rambha police have begun an inquiry into the matter and are awaiting the post-mortem report to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
