Heightened security in Sambalpur ahead of Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti

Bhubaneswar, April 5: With Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti approaching, the Sambalpur police have ramped up security in the sensitive Motijharan area under Dhanupali police station limits.
Authorities are using high-tech tools including drones, dog squads, and bomb detection units to ensure safety. Ram Navami will be observed on April 11, followed by Hanuman Jayanti on April 12.
Sambalpur Superintendent of Police Mukesh Bhamu informed the media that an integrated control room has been established to monitor 160 CCTV cameras using artificial intelligence. A total of 49 critical locations have been identified for focused surveillance, and 22 drones have been deployed as part of the operation.
The SP further noted that peace committee meetings have been held in advance to promote communal harmony. “Our 24/7 surveillance system is in place with constant monitoring of cameras and drones to maintain peace and security during the celebrations,” he said.
