IMD issues heatwave warning for several Odisha districts from March 29

Bhubaneswar. March 27: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for multiple districts in Odisha, forecasting a significant rise in temperatures from March 29. The weather department has urged residents to take necessary precautions as heatwave conditions are expected to intensify in the coming days.
According to IMD’s prediction for March 29, heatwave conditions are likely to affect one or two places in Sambalpur and Boudh districts. By March 30, the situation is expected to worsen, prompting a yellow warning for Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, and Kalahandi districts.
On March 31, the heatwave is predicted to extend to more regions, affecting Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Bargarh, and Sundargarh. IMD has advised people to avoid direct sun exposure, stay hydrated, and take precautionary measures to prevent heat-related illnesses.
Authorities have also been alerted to prepare for potential impacts, including health risks and increased power demand due to rising temperatures.
