Over 1 lakh women miss Subhadra Yojana’s 2nd installment due to ration card, income discrepancies

Bhubaneswar, March 19: More than one lakh women in Odisha have not received the second installment of the Subhadra Yojana due to discrepancies in their ration card details and declared income, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida informed today.
Parida stated that a significant number of these women had voluntarily surrendered their ration cards after experiencing financial improvement. Additionally, some beneficiaries were found to have purchased vehicles or reported high paddy yields, making them ineligible for the scheme.
To address the issue, the Odisha government will conduct a thorough eligibility survey after March 31, reassessing the income and financial status of affected beneficiaries. The initiative aims to ensure that only deserving women continue receiving benefits under the Subhadra Yojana.
However, the Deputy CM assured that women who were wrongly excluded due to documentation errors will receive their second installment by Rakhi Purnima, ensuring that deserving beneficiaries are not deprived of the financial assistance.
