Bhubaneswar, March 18: A team from the Odisha Crime Branch visited the residence of slain BJD leader and former Health Minister Naba Kishore Das in Jharsuguda and recorded the statements of his family members in connection with his murder case.
According to sources, a two-member team, consisting of ASP Vijay Mallick and DSP Diptimayee Mallick, visited the Das residence at Sarbahal, Jharsuguda, to collect testimonies. During the visit, the officials recorded the statements of Naba Das’ daughter, Deepali Das, and son, Bishal Das.

Earlier, the Crime Branch had summoned both siblings for questioning regarding the daylight murder of their father. However, they had not appeared before the officials at that time.

The Crime Branch’s visit comes just days after Minati Das, wife of the slain leader, reportedly wrote to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, requesting a meeting to discuss the status of the investigation.

Notably, Naba Das was shot by a policeman on January 29, 2023, at Brajarajnagar in Jharsuguda district. He later succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
