Bhubaneswar, March 18: A tragic incident occurred in Anandpur, Keonjhar district, where a seven-year-old girl lost her life after being crushed under the debris of a collapsed wall. The deceased, identified as Snehalata, was the daughter of Nirakar Sahu and a Class II student. Following her father’s death, she had been living with her maternal grandfather.

On the unfortunate day, Snehalata was preparing for her school exam when the wall of her house suddenly collapsed, burying her under the rubble. Hearing the loud crash, locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue her. She was immediately shifted to Anandpur Sub-Divisional Hospital, but doctors declared her dead on arrival. Along with her, a five-year-old boy also sustained injuries in the incident.

The tragic event has left the village in deep shock, and authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse. The incident highlights the need for proper safety measures in old and weak structures to prevent such unfortunate accidents.
