Mancheswar Police arrest prime accused in brutal murder of Sahadev Nayak

Bhubaneswar, March 1: In a significant breakthrough, Mancheswar Police have arrested the key accused in the brutal murder of Sahadev Nayak, a Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) employee and a well-known social worker. The accused, identified as Susei Nayak alias Sushant, was on the run after the crime, abandoning his two-wheeler while attempting to evade arrest.
Earlier, police had arrested seven individuals in connection with the case. Among them, Rama Nayak had surrendered at Mancheswar Police Station on February 16, which led to further arrests and eventually helped in tracking down Susei Nayak.
The gruesome incident took place when Sahadev Nayak was returning home after dropping his minor daughter at school in the VSS Nagar area. Miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons near Kedarpalli slum under the Capital Police Station limits, killing him on the spot.
The murder sent shockwaves across the city, with locals demanding strict action against the perpetrators. With the prime accused now in custody, police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full motive behind the crime.
