CM Mohan Majhi visits injured Lingaraj Temple servitor

Bhubaneswar, Feb 27: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met the injured servitor of Lingaraj Temple, who sustained injuries while raising the Mahadeepa atop the ancient Shiva shrine during Maha Shivaratri celebrations on Wednesday night.
The mishap occurred around 10:30 PM when the servitor fell while climbing the temple with the sacred lamp. Despite the accident, another servitor promptly took the Mahadeepa and successfully placed it atop the temple at 10:40 PM, marking the culmination of the day-long fasting and rituals.
Expressing concern over the incident, CM Majhi visited the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, where the injured servitor is receiving treatment. He inquired about his condition and assured that the best medical care would be provided. Taking to social media platform X, CM Majhi wrote: “I met the injured servitors at Capital Hospital and inquired about their health. Steps are being taken to ensure priority treatment. I pray for their speedy recovery.”
Earlier in the day, CM Majhi participated in Maha Shivaratri celebrations at Lingaraj Temple. He reiterated the government’s commitment to developing the temple surroundings and announced plans to upgrade spiritual sites across Odisha.
