Odisha Government takes action after BTech student's alleged suicide at KIIT University

Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: he Odisha government has swiftly responded to a tragic incident involving a 3rd-year BTech student from Nepal, who allegedly died by suicide at KIIT University. In light of this unfortunate event, the government has issued a notice to the institution and has committed to implementing stringent legal and administrative measures based on the findings of a High-Level Fact-Finding Committee.
This committee, established by the government, includes prominent officials such as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, the Principal Secretary of the Women & Child Development Department, and the Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Higher Education Department. The investigation will focus on reports of misconduct, including serious allegations of force being used against students by private individuals. Officials have assured that those found responsible will face strict legal consequences.
