Odisha Govt to begin work on Jayadev Vihar-Nandan Kanan flyover soon

Bhubaneswar, Feb 11: The Odisha government is set to begin work on the much-anticipated flyover connecting Jayadev Vihar to Nandan Kanan in Bhubaneswar.
The project, which has received official approval, will soon enter the technical work phase, as confirmed by Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. This initiative is expected to significantly improve the city’s traffic management and ease congestion on one of its busiest routes.
Once completed, the flyover will seamlessly extend from the existing national highway flyover at Jayadev Vihar to Nandan Kanan, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted flow of vehicles. To enhance accessibility, strategically placed escape routes will be incorporated at key intersections, allowing commuters to exit the flyover conveniently. The Minister emphasized that the project’s design prioritizes both safety and efficiency, with a four-lane road built above the current roadway to accommodate high traffic volumes.
The government has set an ambitious timeline, aiming to complete a substantial portion of the project by 2027-28. Once operational, this flyover is expected to become a crucial component of Bhubaneswar’s growing urban infrastructure, improving connectivity and reducing travel time for thousands of daily commuters.
