Drunk teacher assaults 16 students in Bargarh school, probe underway

Bhubaneswar, Feb 6: Sixteen students of Thakuradia Primary School in Bargarh district were allegedly physically assaulted by their teacher on Wednesday, leaving many of them injured. The accused teacher has been identified as Padmalochan Muna.
According to Kishore Sahoo, the father of one of the victims, the teacher was intoxicated when he attacked the students. “He used a stick to hit the children, injuring some of them on their heads. The injured students were later rushed to the hospital for medical treatment,” Sahoo said.
Following the incident, concerned parents informed the Block Education Officer (BEO) and the local police. Authorities arrived at the school and assured parents that appropriate action would be taken after the BEO submits a report.
Many parents expressed deep distress over the situation, with Sahoo saying, "Seeing my child injured breaks my heart."
As of now, no official statement has been issued by the school headmaster or senior education officials regarding the matter. Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to determine further action against the accused teacher.
