Cricket fever peaks ahead of India-England ODI match at Barabati Stadium

Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: With the much-anticipated India-England ODI match set to take place at Cuttack’s Barabati Stadium on February 9, excitement among fans is at an all-time high. Since Tuesday evening, over 10,000 eager cricket enthusiasts have been queuing up to secure their tickets, and the crowd is steadily growing.
Reports indicate that approximately 11,500 tickets for the upcoming match will be available for purchase at various counters on February 5 and 6. Despite the impending ticket sales, a significant number of fans have already gathered near the stadium, demonstrating their enthusiasm and commitment to attending the game.
Many dedicated fans, including women, have spent the night on the streets, eagerly awaiting the opening of ticket counters in a bid to secure their seats for the match.
In an unusual twist, brokers have employed women from nearby slums, offering them Rs 2,000 each to stand in line and buy tickets on their behalf. However, police have intervened, preventing these women from standing with the crowds, leaving them stranded.
Each individual will be allowed to purchase a maximum of two tickets from the gallery counter, provided they present valid identification documents, such as Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, or PAN cards.
