Commissionerate Police launches special drive against tinted films and loud horns

Bhubaneswar, Feb 5: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police will launch a special drive against the use of black films, sirens, and multi-toned horns starting February 10. Defaulters will face significant penalties in accordance with the law.

According to the police, car windows must permit at least 70% of visible light to pass through the front and rear windows and 50% for the side windows. Car owners who violate these regulations will be subject to fines, as warned by the Commissionerate Police.

Commissioner of Police Suresh Dev Datta Singh urged vehicle owners and drivers to comply with these legal requirements. He stated, “Despite legal prohibitions, many motorists continue to use tinted glass and multi-toned horns, which pose a threat to public safety, create confusion, and contribute to road accidents.”

He advised vehicle owners to adhere to the regulations and voluntarily remove tinted films and multi-toned horns before February 10, 2025, to avoid incurring penalties.
