Interstate robbery gang busted in Kalahandi; ₹3.51 crore cash recovered

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1: In a major breakthrough, Dharmagarh police in Kalahandi district successfully busted an inter-state robbery gang and arrested eight accused involved in a daring heist.
During the operation, police recovered ₹3.51 crore in cash, firearms, ammunition, and the vehicles used in the crime. The arrested individuals, all residents of Ranchi district in Jharkhand, have been identified as Tahir Ansari, Hussein Khan, Jaisam Khan, Samim Ansari, Basudev Gope, Pintu alias Alim, and Anuj Kumar.
The robbery took place on January 30, when masked criminals stormed a liquor den in Dharmagarh, threatened staff and customers, and looted a huge sum of money. The gang fled in a Bolero (JH10AP4817) before police could respond.
A special team, led by the Kalahandi Superintendent of Police, was formed to track the robbers. Police traced the getaway vehicle to Jharkhand, arresting two accused first, and later apprehended the remaining members while they attempted to escape.
The gang is now in police custody, and further investigation is underway to determine if they were involved in other crimes.
