Shree Jagannath Temple Administration takes action against land encroachment

Bhubaneswar, Jan 31: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has taken a significant step to protect the sacred land of Lord Jagannath by installing a signboard on Friday, warning that trespassing on this land is a punishable offense under the law.
This initiative follows alarming reports of individuals plotting to illegally sell land belonging to Lord Jagannath near the Gundicha Temple, which has prompted the administration to act decisively.
The SJTA had previously filed a complaint with the Kumbharapada police, revealing that certain unscrupulous elements were attempting to encroach upon and sell several plots of land, including numbers 827, 824, 821, 823, 825, and 821/1816 in the Talabania area. In light of these illegal activities, the temple administration has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards any encroachment on Lord Jagannath’s properties.
SJTA Chief Arabinda Padhee has ordered a preliminary investigation by the Tehsildar and engaged in discussions with the Puri Superintendent of Police to ensure swift action is taken against those involved in these illicit activities. The temple administration is determined to safeguard the integrity of Lord Jagannath’s land.
