Odisha tightens security ahead of 76th Republic Day celebrations

Bhubaneswar, Jan 25: Odisha has put in place extensive security arrangements across the state ahead of the 76th Republic Day celebrations. Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Sanjay Kumar confirmed on Saturday that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a safe and smooth event. He highlighted that this year’s celebration would feature a vibrant display of patriotism, with a grand state-level parade showcasing various law enforcement forces.
According to ADG Kumar, 48 to 49 contingents, including the 120 Battalion Continental Army, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Special Security Battalion, Armed Police Reserve (APR), Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP), and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), will participate in the parade. Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) across the state have been placed on high alert to ensure the seamless arrival and movement of guests and dignitaries.
In Cuttack, Chief Minister Mohan Majhi will hoist the national flag to lead the celebrations, while Governor Kambhampati Hari Babu will unfurl the flag at the state-level function in Bhubaneswar on January 26. Authorities have urged citizens to stay vigilant and cooperate with security personnel to ensure a successful and secure Republic Day celebration.
