Man slits wife’s throat during dispute resolution at temple in Jagatsinghpur

Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: A shocking incident unfolded at the Nandakeswar Shiva shrine in Jagatsinghpur on Wednesday when a man allegedly attacked his wife during a meeting to resolve a marital dispute.
The accused, identified as Prakash Senapati of Ichhapur village under Balikuda police limits, slit his wife Padmini's throat with a sharp blade in front of a gathering. The couple had been summoned to the temple under Naugaon police jurisdiction to settle their differences.
As per reports, the brutal attack left Padmini critically injured. Villagers intervened, restrained Prakash, and rushed Padmini to Naugaon Community Health Centre using a 108 ambulance.
Police were alerted and promptly reached the scene. Prakash was taken into custody, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances leading to the attack. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the escalation of domestic disputes into violence.
