Commissionerate Police tighten security ahead of Republic Day in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, the Commissionerate Police have intensified security measures in Bhubaneswar, focusing on chocking and blocking operations to ensure public safety.
As part of the crackdown, several youths were apprehended for driving under the influence, and their vehicles were seized. This initiative is aimed at preventing accidents and maintaining law and order during the festive period.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra stated, “In accordance with directives from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the Director General of Police, we have launched heightened night patrolling and security operations. Senior officials are supervising these efforts to ensure thorough checking and effective law enforcement.”
With large crowds expected for Republic Day events, the police are leaving no stone unturned to create a safe environment. This includes increased surveillance, roadblocks, and enhanced patrolling across key areas in and around the city.
The operations aim to ensure a secure and enjoyable Republic Day experience for residents and visitors alike.
