RPF ASI arrested for allegedly misbehaving with girl at Bhubaneswar station

Bhubaneswar, Jan 8: The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested Niranjan Jena, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday for allegedly misbehaving with a girl under the guise of offering assistance. The arrest came after the victim, a resident of Jagatsinghpur, filed a formal complaint at the Bhubaneswar GRP station.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred on Monday when the girl arrived at Bhubaneswar railway station after her train journey. Upon discovering that her hostel was closed, she found herself in a vulnerable situation and sought help from the RPF. Taking advantage of her predicament, Jena allegedly offered to secure her a room at the station. However, once they entered the room, he reportedly locked the door from the inside and proceeded to misbehave with her.
The girl's courageous decision to report the incident has led to Jena's arrest, and further investigations are underway. The GRP has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of travelers at the railway station.
