Odisha extends e-KYC deadline for ration card beneficiaries to January 31

Bhubaneswar, Jan 6: The Odisha government has extended the deadline for ration card beneficiaries to complete the e-KYC process until January 31, aiming to cover all eligible individuals under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra revealed on Sunday that while 85% of beneficiaries have completed their e-KYC, over 50 lakh individuals are yet to do so. "The extension is an opportunity for those left out to complete the process and secure their ration cards," the minister stated.
Beneficiaries can complete their e-KYC at Electronic Public Service (EPS) outlets or ration distribution centers. New ration cards will be issued once all eligible PDS beneficiaries are registered, ensuring uninterrupted access to essential supplies.
Government officials have been instructed to facilitate the e-KYC process, even for Odia residents living outside the state. Recently, officials conducted e-KYC registrations for Odia migrants in Goa, demonstrating the state’s commitment to inclusivity.
The extension aims to ensure that no beneficiary is left behind in accessing essential resources.
