Bhubaneswar, Jan 1: A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a pond at Birasoti village under Sadar police limits in Kendrapara district on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Kanhu Charan Nath.

According to his family, Kanhu had prepared dinner for his family after purchasing chicken from the market on Tuesday evening. Later, he was invited by friends to join a feast and left home around 11 PM. When he failed to return, his family tried contacting him, but he did not respond.

The next morning, his clothes and mobile phone were found near the pond, but Kanhu remained untraceable. Tragically, his body was discovered floating in the pond.

Upon being informed, police arrived at the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. Kanhu's wife alleged that her husband was murdered as part of a conspiracy. However, the identity of those involved and the motive behind the alleged murder remain unclear.

The family has demanded a thorough investigation. Police have launched an inquiry to uncover the truth behind the incident.
