Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja’s tenure extended by one year

Bhubaneswar, Dec 27: The Appointment Committee of the Odisha Cabinet has extended the tenure of Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja by one year, effective from January 1, 2025. Ahuja, who was scheduled to retire on December 31, will now continue in the role until the end of 2025.
A 1990-batch IAS officer of the Odisha cadre, Ahuja assumed the position of Chief Secretary on July 1, 2024, succeeding Pradeep Kumar Jena. His appointment followed his return from central deputation, where he served as Secretary in the Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department since 2017.
Ahuja's illustrious career began as Sub-Collector of Dharamgarh in Kalahandi district. He later served as the Collector of Khurdha district and held significant roles, including Commissioner-cum-Secretary in the Steel and Mines, Sports and Youth Services departments, Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, and Principal Secretary in the Cooperation Department.
His extended tenure reflects the state government’s confidence in his leadership during critical administrative and developmental initiatives.
