25-year-old commits suicide by jumping in front of train in Dhenkanal
Bhubaneswar, Dec 23: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Monday recovered the body of a young man from the railway tracks along the Duburi-Talcher railway line under Parjang police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Tukun Sahu, a resident of Dihdol village in the same area. Initial investigations suggest that Tukun died by suicide after jumping in front of a speeding goods train during the early hours of Monday. According to local villagers, Tukun had been battling severe depression, reportedly triggered by poverty and repeated struggles to secure employment.
Upon being informed of the incident, GRP officers promptly arrived at the location to recover the body. They have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event. Authorities are also attempting to gather further details from family members and neighbors to ascertain the full context of the situation. This incident has cast a pall of gloom over the village, highlighting the pressing issue of mental health challenges and unemployment.
