Security guard stabbed to death in Jharsuguda; police launch investigation
Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: A 37-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants on Bhualapatra Road under Kolabira police station limits in Jharsuguda district late Thursday night. The deceased, Santosh Nayak, a resident of Kelenda panchayat, worked as a security guard at a local factory.
According to sources, Nayak was en route to work when he was attacked with sharp weapons by the miscreants, killing him instantly. His lifeless body was discovered by locals lying in a pool of blood. They immediately rushed him to the Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Jharsuguda Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Umashankar Singh, accompanied by a scientific team, visited the crime scene and initiated a thorough investigation. While the motive behind the murder remains unclear, police have launched a manhunt to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with residents demanding swift justice for the victim.
