Bhubaneswar, Dec 20: Sadar police in Jeypore recovered a charred body near a mango tree along the Brahmanigaon road in Koraput district late Thursday night, sparking mystery and concern in the area. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death.

According to Police Sub-Inspector Pankajini Sabar, the shocking discovery was first made by a local child who noticed the body burning and alerted his family. By the time they arrived at the scene, the body was already completely burnt.

Police have recovered a bottle near the site, which could potentially serve as crucial evidence in the investigation. While the exact cause of death remains unknown, authorities are treating the case with urgency and are awaiting forensic analysis to shed light on the incident.
